About Steady

What does Steady do for property managers?

Steady handles the owner side of property management. OwnerLaunch helps property management companies onboard owners and renew agreements in one professional, consistent process. OwnerProtect gives them an owner protection program, with owner services all year, that they offer under their own brand.

Who is Steady for?

Property management companies, most of them in single-family rentals. Steady works through property managers, not directly with individual owners or residents.

I own a rental property. Can I buy from Steady directly?

No. OwnerProtect is available only through property management companies that offer it. Ask your property manager, or visit our support page and we’ll help you find the right next step.

I’m a resident. Who should I contact?

Your property manager. Steady doesn’t manage properties or leases, so your property manager is the right first call for rent, repair or lease questions.

OwnerLaunch

What is OwnerLaunch?

OwnerLaunch is Steady’s owner onboarding platform for property management companies. Owners complete your branded application online, provide verification documents, sign your agreement and addenda, and move through renewal in one place, instead of email chains and attachments.

Can I use my own management agreement?

Yes. You upload your own agreement and addenda, then set up your fee schedule, disclosures, insurance requirements and document requests in a template you reuse for each new owner.

What does OwnerLaunch verify?

Owner bank account details, W-9 information and Additional Insured status on the owner’s policy. If something can’t be verified, your team sees it and can ask the owner for the document.

How much setup does it take?

You build your template once and reuse it for every new owner. We’ll walk through setup for your portfolio in your review.

Will it save my team time?

The time comes back from not chasing. Owners get one link, reminders go out on their own, and your team sees each owner’s status in one place instead of across inboxes.

Does OwnerLaunch work with my property management software?

Tell us which software you use when you book your review, and we’ll show you how OwnerLaunch fits alongside it.

OwnerProtect

What does OwnerProtect include?

Protection when something goes wrong, including loss-of-rent, legal and re-tenanting, excess pet damage and unauthorized occupant protection, plus owner services all year: listing monitoring, lease compliance monitoring, legislation alerts and quarterly asset reports.

Can owners buy OwnerProtect directly?

No. OwnerProtect is available only through property management companies that offer it, under the PM company’s brand.

Are there qualification requirements?

When a lease is already in place, Steady scores the tenant’s ledger on payment history, including on-time payments, late payments and NSFs, to determine whether a unit qualifies.

How are claims filed, and how long do payouts take?

Claims are filed and tracked online, in the same dashboard your team already uses. Payouts take about two weeks on average.

Is OwnerProtect available in every state?

Availability and how it can be offered vary by state. We’ll confirm the details for your markets in your review.

What information is included in the legislative alerts?

Our legislative updates provide owners with details on new, pending, and recently passed rental housing legislation. These updates include both State and Federal legislation.

The Win & Retain Review

What is a Win & Retain Review?

A conversation about how your company wins and keeps owners. We look at your current owner agreement and process, then show where OwnerLaunch and OwnerProtect would fit, if they fit at all.

Who should book it?

Owners, broker-owners, directors of operations and owner relationship leads at property management companies. It’s most useful when the person who owns the owner experience is on the call.

Should I bring my owner agreement?

Yes, if you can. Your current management agreement, or the onboarding packet you send owners today, lets us talk about your process instead of a generic one. We won’t give legal advice on it. It’s not required to book.

Is this only for current Steady customers?

No. It’s for any property management company. Current customers are welcome too, especially if you want to see OwnerLaunch or talk through OwnerProtect.

Current customers

Is OwnerProtect the same as the Owner Benefit Package?

Yes. OwnerProtect is the new name for the Owner Benefit Package (OBP). If you’re a current customer, you log in and get support the same way you do today.

How do I log in?

Use Log in at the top of any page. It takes you to the same portal you use today.

Who do I contact about billing or a claim?

Visit our support page and choose “Current customer,” or email support@steadyrent.com. Your request goes straight to the support team.
